Every School Community is Unique
No two school communities look the same, which is why 42 Strong offers flexible options to fit different needs. The program can be woven into advisory periods, leadership classes, or launched as a standalone initiative. Always aligned with the core competencies of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), 42 Strong adapts to each school’s structure—delivering lasting benefits for students, educators, and the broader community.
Why Mentorship Matters
Monthly Traits That Inspire Development

Monthly Traits That Inspire Development
Students in our program experience multi-layered interactions that support personal growth, emotional well-being, and community connection. Each month, mentors and mentees engage with a new “Tate Trait”—a core value like accountability, empathy, or humility—through structured lessons, activities, and discussions. These sessions aren’t just informative—they’re personal, practical, and deeply meaningful. As students explore each trait, they develop essential skills in decision-making, teamwork, and communication, while growing into positive role models and school culture-builders.
Improved Social-Emotional Skills
83% of educators report that mentoring helps students develop empathy, communication, and resilience.
Mentored students are more likely to have positive self-perception and emotional regulation.
Academic Performance & School Engagement
82% of teachers say mentoring improves academic performance.
Peer-mentored students have fewer unexcused absences and disciplinary referrals compared to non-mentored peers.
Positive Identity & Self-Esteem
Reduction in Risky Behaviors
Youth with mentors are:
55% less likely to skip school 46% less likely to use illegal substances 27% less likely to start drinking alcohol
Increased School Connectedness
Leadership & Personal Growth for Mentors
Peer mentors themselves benefit by developing leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Mentors report a greater sense of purpose and personal fulfillment.

Personalized Support for Every Student
Beyond group learning, individual mentoring time between matches builds trust and fosters deeper relationships. Regular guided reflection sessions offer space for feedback, progress tracking, and growth—ensuring accountability and consistent development for every participant.

I like 42 Strong because it gives me an opportunity to make new friends that are older and younger than me and meet new people, I also like the program because I have a mentor who is older than me that I can look up to, tell things and trust. I like to hangout with my mentor and other friends that are in 42 Strong. I also like when we have the monthly get together so I can hangout with the people in my group, my mentor and other friends.
